Recently I had problems with my Elton water heater tanks at my Windmill Upon Hills condominium at Genting Permai.

I have two Elton water heater tanks installed in each of my bathroom by OSK Properties.

For Windmill Upon Hills project, the Elton water heater tank has warranty until April 2023.

Both of my water heater tanks are faulty.

1) One bathroom each time I switch on the water heater my house electricity will trip.
2) Second bathroom there were water leaking from the Elton water tank.

It caused me lots of headache.

What to Repair If Everytime Switch On Elton Water Trip Your Electricity will Trip

Major root caused is due to its faulty water heater coil. You just need to replace it.  The  water heater coil costs around RM120. Labour cost is RM230. So total cost is RM350.

According to the repair man, if the coil is not used for long time, mold will develop around the coil and causing the electricity to trip.

In my case due to MCO I didn’t use much my water heater.

For this repair, I contacted direct with the repair man because at this time I didn’t know the water heater brand was Elton. Fortunately the repair man was fast and expert in Elton water tank as he is authorized repair man from Elton.

It took around 1 hour to replace the faulty water heating coil.

My Elton Water Heater Water Leaking

In my case, the outgoing valve was leaking and the water tank was also leaking. That is why I had 2 water stain spots on my ceiling.

I had to open the ceiling main hole and took pictures of the water leaking.

What to Do if Your Elton Water Heater Tank is Leaking?

1. Take photos or videos of your Elton water leaking
2. Contact their service center. (WhatsApp 012 852 2672)
3. Share the pictures or videos of water leaking
4. In my case, the project was under Elton, they have my records so I don’t need to share the warranty or what so ever. I just need to share my condo address.
5. The service centre will ask for model or serial number on the water tank.  I nearly angry with the service centre because I tried to get it from the water tank but when I looked around there was none. When I said there was none then suddenly they said proceed with repair appointment.
6. Set appointment
7. Elton will replace everything from the water tank, water heating coil and its thermostat.
8. The water tank, coil and thermostat are free if still under warranty.
9. In my case only the water tank is still under warranty so I do need to pay for it but I need to pay for the heating coil and its thermostat.
10. Labour cost is chargeable.

It took nearly 3 hours to replace the leaking water tank with the new one.

Side Effect of the Water Tank Leaking

• I have to replace my LED downlight at the toilet because it became rusty. (I replaced with Cielo downlight)
• To repaint the ceiling due to water marks.

Total Cost To Replace Leaking Elton Water Tank

Elton charged me RM for to replace with new water tank inclusive of labour charge.

Conclusion

• I have doubt on Elton water heater quality.
• The repair cost is not cheap and I don’t know how long it will last.
• On the plus side, their after sales service is really good. Fast response and no question asked. Elton just replaced with new water tank.  Besides, on time for repair appointment.
• Bad side, I have to follow up so many time to get repair appointment.
